A Wnrrmz in the Halifax Herald
illustrates many important changes in
the City of Halifax one thousand years
hence. Perhaps the same prophet could
be induced togive us some idea of Sum-
merslde at that time. It would be
interesting to know if there would then
beabreakwater at the mouth of our
harbor and whether or nota winter boat
would -be plying on the Summerside-
Tormentine route.
Lasr Thursday afternoon those people
of Chelton who were not in the secret
were curious to know what so much
driving in the direction of the home of
Mr. Wm. Ramsay could mean. Upon
enquiry it was learned that the 17th was
the 25th anniversary of the marriage of
Minnie Atkinson and Wm. Ramsay- and
that unusual stirwas caused by the guests
gathering to celebrate the event. Among
those present from a distance were: Mr.
and Mrs. George C. Spence, Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Spence of Botsford, N. _ B.; Mr.
Will Fawcett of Sackville; Mrs. Taylor
and Mr. George Taylor of Hamilton, and
about 30 guests from nearer homes. The
good time began _with the cordial welcome
extended the guests by the ' host and
hostess and certainly the pleasure and
` merriment did not decrease while supper
was being served. After doing justin to
a fowl supper and the course which
followed, it was amusing to watch the
expressions of sadness which passed over
the faces of the guests when they realized
that they would not be able to “help out”
on the other good things so abundant.
When it.eame to the ice cream and fruit,
an extra exertion was made and they dis-
appeared murvellously. During the
evening Misses Maud Wright, Andie Mc-
Farlane and Los Schurman furnishedsome
choice music which added much to the
pleasure of every one. Games also were
played and when all were sore from
laughing and had thoroughly enjoyed
! tlieniselves, the party broke up by singing
Li.,-iz Save the King. A number of hand-
r~me and useful presents were presented

conveying to them the kind regards and
