U.P.E.I. sun Feb. 10, 1933 B§ES # stems # Yes, "Winter Spree '83" is over and what a carnival it was! The bands were good, the pubs were good, participation was good and the brew was good. All in all the carnival was, in my opinion, (and many other people's) a tren- endous success. It is great to see so many people getting involved, espec- ially when mid-term exams are just around the corner. The men's varsity teams AFRICA—ram (Toto). Recorded during the band's 1982 tour of the U.S.. it contains such early favor- ites as "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid" as well as morevre- cent material. Black Sabbath's live shows are well known for their intensity and sonic excesses, and this LP captures allot that. It is also the final album recorded with singer Ronnie Bio and drummer Vinnie Appic'e, both oi whom have since left the hand. This double LP, by the way, retails tor $11.98. PETER BROWN-jack Tojhe Fmt. RCA ARI-4604. Pro duced by Peter Brown. Resurfacing on RCA is the “Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me" man, and behind the dance smash “Baby Gets High," Brown bids for his biggest to date. Time-nit has not changed the singer/songwriter/lreyboard- ist's basic attack, which is dance pop, but traces at rock, jazz and disco pepper "Heaven In Your Eyes," "Overnight Sensa- tion" and “Lover Come Back." Brown's beat-driven blue-eyed soul and dance-incused tunes feature Michael Boddiclier on synthesiler, heeled-up horn section. and a whole lot of the big rhythm sound of footloose Peter Brown.
