III MEMOIIIA ADOLPHUS ELLSWORTH Friends and relatives not only in East Baltic, but in the surrounding districts were shocked and grieved when it was learned that Adolphus Ellsworth had passed away on June I4 in City Hospital at the age of 51. having been admitted pthe previous day. The late Mr. I1.lls- worth was a victim of lung cancer which was only recognized a few weeks previous to his death. On recognition he was removed to Prov. San. where everything was done to alleviate his sutering. but was dismissed and allowed to re- turn to his home in which he spent one night. His condition warranted further medical care and he was immediately sent to City Hospital. Charlottetown where he succumb- ed next day. g . Dolphie, as he was familiarly called. was a man of outstanding qualities. a friend to everyone. and was never known to SDCEK 8 W0"! against a neighbor. Truly it can he said: "He was a model husband father. brother and friend." He served his country both in Canada and overseas, returning to his home in 1945. He later married an "English girl Nancy Holden. From this union 3 children were born the youngest having predeceased her father hy 5 months at the tender age of 5 months. His funeral to St. Columba was very largely attended. and was under the direction of Dingweli Bros. Souris, with 6 of his near friends acting as pail bearers: Arthur Keene. Colin Dixon. John Dixon. Peter Massey. Stuart Mac- Gregor and Isadore Murphy. Seated in the Sanctuary were 4 priests one of whom was Rev. Bernard Gillis from whose hand Dolphie received his First Holy Communion. Also present in the congregation was his sister St. Mary Adolph who made the trip from Brigton, Mass.. too late to see her beloved brother alive but a consolation to her sorrowing sister- ln-law and her orphaned children. The funeral services were con- ducted on Sunday afternoon by the pastor Rev. W. D. MacDonald, after which. members of the Can- adian Legion performed their bur- ial ceremonies and badi- far:-well in silent tribute to their beloved comrade.
