man-.a..... . .......- .... A.G. Scott Wins Free- For--A11 At Saturday Night Racin A. G. Scott. Rajah Hanover. Arlonway and Abner McGraw raced to double heat victories Saturday night in a keenly contested racing card at the Charlottetown Driving Park. home Letcher's A. G. Scott, driv- en by Ike Moreslde. continued his great pacing performance as he won both clashes of the Free-For All with terrific stretch drives. Rajah Hanover. also driven by Moi-eside. who rained four winners on the night's card. nosed nut Mighty Deb in the Classified Trot and Pace for upset victories in the fourth and eighth races. Abner McGraw showed ton mllfhl trotting ability to win easily over Eva Budlong and Buddy Otconnor in the Classified Pace while Arian- wav trotted to two wins over Way- mark, Bonnie Dale and Wait N' See. Babe Brittoii almost sprang an upset in the first dash of the Free- For-All as he raced A. G. Scott down to the wire in a battle for the honors. The Babe, driven in l.en O'Mcara and showing his best form of the season, was leading the ficlcl as he headed into the siietcli on the last time around and vtas, only nosed out after A. G. Scott moved up rapidly on the outside. Direct Mite led the field at the half way mark followed by Jose- rlale Clipper, Babe. Britton and A G Scott. The Babe mored into the lead on the, back stretch but didnt have. quite enough to stay ahead of the Scott horse. A. G. Scott, Direct Mite and the Babe walzed another stirring battle in their second dash. Asl they headed into the stretch it was the Babe, Direct Mite and A. G. Scott in that order but once more the Scott horse moved tip on the outside to win by half a length over Dll'PCi. Mite who in turn had half a lciigih on Babe Brilioii. But it. was Rajah Hallow-r and Mizhiv Deb who waged the most gg Meet ..L.......L...:...L.D and it came in the last race on the card. The Rajah took an early lead in the race followed by Mighty Deb in second position and Miss Com- mando in third. It was still that way as they headed into the stretch and down towards the wire in an all-out race for honors. Mighty Deb moved slightly ahead of the Rfljail on the stretch but somewhere in the last 40 yards the Hanover gelding with all the racing blood of his famous ancestors made tip the difference and won by the slightest of margins in a blan- ykei finish A photo was required to de- tciintiie the iiiiiner and it sliow- ed that the Ralah won because he had his head licld high as he cros- sed tlie iiire. in their first race the Rajah went aii:iy ill top position and stayed out lI'ltlli. all the nay.
