our whereabouts. A gun fight erupted between me and two killers. Greg had no gun and was hiding behind a smoke stack. Next I was fist fighting one of the killers. and end of dream - damn just at the good part. NHL Hockey by Chris McCarron Dave Ellet is Canadian although he was born in Ohio. He has a dual citizenship. Dave’s family is Canadian. Dave’s father played for an AHL team which required them to live in the States thus Dave Ellet was born in the USA. Dave is Canadian and the Leafs are all Canadian. By the way, I confirmed this information with the good people at Maple Leaf Gardens by call- ing them at (416) 977-1641. The dork, Farwell, didn’t even want future Hall of Famer, Mark Howe, to play with the Flyers this year. Yet before Farwell, Clarke signed Howe toa lifetime contract with the Flyers. Thus, Farwell couldn’t trade Howe. Yet, Howe will probably want out of this situation soon. He will probably play elsewhere next year. Doug Gilmour has got to be the most underrated superstar inthe NHL. I hope he gets a good contract from Toronto. With Wendel not playing, Gilmour becomes the most exciting Leaf player. People must think I’mcrazy but Icouldn’t think of two teams I’d rather see play each other then the game on Saturday nite, the 25th, featuring the Flyers and Leafs. Heretall, when he has the puck is the Flyers best defenceman. Heretall is the team if they trade Heretall 1 don’t know what I’d do. Zezel was winning faceoffs from Ricci all night. The Bullard and Zezel looked ready to boot their former team, while the Leaf Wregget was booted from the game by the Leafs in the first period. Wregget allowed three goals on three shots. The game would be better if Tochet and Clark were playing, but both were scratches. Clark, witha suspension & Tochet with an injured heel, Tochet and Clarke fought last year or the year before. Who won, I don’t know but I know Tochettold Don Cherry | ‘*T wasn’t holding on for dear life against Clark.A”’ | Too bad Clark and Tochet weren’t there to trade checks and fists. I expect the Flyers will be a much better team next year. Their coach Bill Dineen seems like a good one. If Don Cherry says he’s good then | believe it. Hopefully samuelson will be traded from the Flyers. I’ve heard that Tochet is now unhappy in Philly and if that is so then trade him to Calgary or LA or Toronto. Tochet deserves to play with Gretz or MacInnis or even better former teammate Zezel and tough guy Clark. Albertville °92 by Stacy Dunn Winter Olympic fever will be in France in one week (The opening ceremonies are on Saturday, February 8th), so for fun, I made the following predictions: 1) The Canadian hockey team prove that they are 2 legit 2 quit and capture the silver medal (The Soviet U... or, the Commonwealth of Independent States will of course, win gold). 2) The CIS will be first in the final medal standings, and the reunited Germany willbe aclose second (undoubtedly, the changes in Eastern Europe will have no effect on its athletes’ performances). 3) Canadian figure skating sensation, Kurt Brown- ing, will win silver, and the media, who expected him to win gold, will treat Browning’s second place finish as a major disappointment. 4) The host country, France, will do really well in almost all the events (check out the exciting ice dance pair, the Duchesnays; their performances are always as good as gold). 5) The Italian hockey team will be clobbered in every game that they play. 6) The Jamaican bobsled team will win gold.
