UNITED CHURCH KENSINGTON ANNUAL MEETING Notwithstanding the bad roads and prevailing sickness a goodly number met in the Church on Monday ev- ening, Jan. 21st, in annual meeting. After prayer the Message of the Session was read. This is too leng- thy to be incorporated in the report but a few excerpts can be given. "' ' First or sii tbsuks were expressed to God for the blessings of the year. Only two members, Miss Mary Clark, Mrs. Ella Lowther, had been remov- ed by death and 10 had been receiv- ed on profession of faith and certi- ficate. Thanks were expressed tothe congregation for the fine way in which they had aupported'the»work of the Church during the year, es- pecially in providing the beautiful building recently dedicated. We feel that now we have a building worthy of th‘e church we represent and the place we hold in the community. Mere material advancement, how- ever, was not enough. The congre- gation was urged io a rededicatlon of life and service towaidthe build- ing up of the spiritual Temple. ‘ (1). Set a 'high value upon your membership in the United Church of Canada. You belong to a_ great church, II. church upon which not only the eye of Canada, but the world is focused. All are eagerly watching the working out of this great adventure of faith and prepar- ing to accept the Challenge for other and greater unions. It is a great privilege to be a member oL the home and abroad. One of our church papers should be in every ' home. (2). Not only recognize your pri- vilege but also your respon.slbiiity.~~ - Touching yourselves-_seek to make yourselves more worthy members of this Church. By attendance at the regular diet of Worship, the Prayer Meeting. the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, by private prayer and family devotion. None of them can be observed without spiritual enrich- ment, none can be neglected without spiritual loss. Touching others-A little bit of personal work on your part may lead others into fellowship with Christ and His Church. The Sunday School, Young Peopls's "Societies, the Mis- sionary Auxiliary Banda and Circles present fine avenues of service. This congregation has always been ‘ 15 13% -. MRS. EMMA LOUISE KEATING At her home at Elliots on early moming of Dec. 31st, 1928, there passed peacefully away Mrs. Emma Louise Keating. Although the late Mrs. Keating was not so robust for the past year or more as she was formerly, she never complained and attended to her domestic duties and the cares of many others 'very faithfully. I-Ier friends thought she had many years of usefulness ahead of her, but that . God had willed otherwise as she was confined to her bed only one day when her spirit fled to Him that gave it. The late Mrs. Keating was form- erly the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Wigmore, of Graham’s_ Road, and was born Aug. 17th., 1873, where she lived till her marriage to the late R.. E. Keating in the year 1903. To this wedlock was bom three children, who are left to mourn the loss of an affectionate mother. The family are Henry W., at home; (Rota S.) Mrs. Chas.
