The Search For the Green By Laurie Murphy Tuesday 10-11, 1-4:30 Wednesday 8:30-1 Thursday 10-11 Did you know that National Awards are available for you if you decide to go into graduate school after a first undergradu- ate degree? I’m going to reprint a typical national program and it conditions for award so that you can see that although organiza- tions offering monies may ask lot of you , they are also offering a lot to you. Prestige and money aren’t bad pickings for an evening of your attention! I have decided to use an exam- ple from the Canadian Federation for University Women because it is not always a well known one, and it also might encourage more women to attend graduate school beyond their first degree. This is indeed the fundamental purpose of any scholarship and bursary, and all organizations involved feel a very real motivation to pro- vide awards for people exactly like yourself. They want you to attend graduate school, and they want to help you do it. Drop by the Deparment of Student Services to see the in- credible variety of awards in- volved in graduate school, and to a lesser degree. Those awards offered for professional schools like veterinary, medical, den- tistry, and law school programs. I am hired to help sort out the pro- cess with you, but the informa- tion on file is set up in a self-serve system. Do’see what is available. Also, deadlines for undergrad- uate awards are coming up like the IODE Scholarships (for soph- mores) by Nov, the Canadian Water. Resources Scholarship by Oct. 31, the Kidney Foundation of Canada —- Summer Student Fel- lowship Program by Oct. 31, and the Pillsbury Undergraduate Scholarship Program by Nov 30.
