      This
      scholarship
      has
      been

      lished
      by
      the
      family
      of
      the
      late
      Peter
      J.
     
     
      DesRoches
      to
      enable
      mature
      or
      part-time
     
     
      students
      at
      UPEI
      to
      continue
      their
      educa-
     
     
      tion
      in
      their
      chosen
      field.
      The
      scholar-
     
     
      ship
      is
      available
      to
      those
      mature
      full-
     
     
      time/part-time
      students
      who
      have
      com-
     
     
      pleted
      their
      second
      year
      of
      studies.
      They
     
     
      must
      be
      able
      to
      demonstrate
      to
      the
     
     
      Scholarship
      Committee
      that
      they
      have
     
     
      been
      involved
      in
      community
      service.
     
     
      Their
      activities
      must
      have
      had
      an
      impact
     
     
      on
      an
      area
      such
      as
      the
      following:
      employ-
     
     
      ment
      equity;
      better
      understanding
      be-
     
     
      tween
      cultures;
      minorities,
      natives,
      single
     
     
      parent
      families,
      the
      poor,
      the
     
     
      marginalized,
      or
      the
      disabled.
      The
      family
     
     
      has
      established
      this
      scholarship
      based
      on
     
     
      the
      love
      and
      respect
      that
      the
      late
      J.
      Peter
     
     
      DesRoches
      had
      for
      his
      family,
      commu-
     
     
      nity
      and
      country.
