Fessenden-Trott Scholarships Candidates must be Canadian NAc ADAM DIVISION cHAMPS 95-16 Financial Aid Information citizens or permanent residents. This award is available to undergraduate students who are completing their first year of a university program, and have attained high academic standing. The duration of the award is for three years or until the scholars obtain their first degree, whichever occurs first. Applications are by nomination only. UPEI may nominate only one candidate. Applications for nomination may be picked up from file 70 at Student Services. The deadline for applications at UPEI is May 15, 1996. Prince Edward Island Council of the Disabled Trust -- Alice and Bruce Roy Memorial Scholarships Assistance for students with a disability is available from the Alice and Roy Bruce Memorial —__ Th “ES Son, MAC PHERSayv Scholarship Fund. Students must be under the age of 19 at the time of appli- cation and a resident of PEI. The scholarship may be renewed annually. These scholarships are available for any educational pursuit. All applications will be reviewed and decided upon by the Trust Committee of the Council of the Disabled. Awards will normally be announced in August. Individuals may apply for assistance from the Trust Fund by completing the application form and returning it to the Council of the Disabled by June 30 of each year. Applications are in file 134 at Student Services. The Peter J. DesRoches Memorial Scholarship This scholarship has been estab- lished by the family of the late Peter J. DesRoches to enable mature or part-time students at UPEI to continue their educa- tion in their chosen field. The scholar- ship is available to those mature full- time/part-time students who have com- pleted their second year of studies. They must be able to demonstrate to the Scholarship Committee that they have been involved in community service. Their activities must have had an impact on an area such as the following: employ- ment equity; better understanding be- tween cultures; minorities, natives, single parent families, the poor, the marginalized, or the disabled. The family has established this scholarship based on the love and respect that the late J. Peter DesRoches had for his family, commu- nity and country. Application deadline is April 30.
