Every- hing gets started on Mon- day September 5 with the de- parture of a hot air balloon Parents Reception Another first and an event that we feel makes Ori- entation complete! It’s a re- ception for the parents of up- coming freshman. A chance for them to get questions answered to that you never answer for them. Parents are usually left in the dark about UPEI and university life in general. We are going to tell them the truth (sort of) and give them a chance to see the campus for themselves. They’ll meet the faculty that will be educating you over the next 4 years. Following the reception at 7:00pm will be a tour of the campus and a special tour of the Vet College. displaying the “Shinerama” on its side. This will leave from MacAdam Field for its voyage over the city. Shinerama Day is slated for Wednesday Sept 7, this is the day that the Frosh go out and shine shoes, they will be spread across the Island in Montague, Char- lottetown, and Summerside. Our ’88 campaign wraps up the following week with the Shinerama Pace held at the CDP. This is scheduled for Thursday Sept 15, and this year Chevy’s has generously agreed to take full sponsor- ship of the race. As a little added incen- tive this year, the president of the Student Union, Dean MacMillan, and myself are offering a bit of a challenge to everyone participating in Shinerama. If $ 6000.00 is raised on Shinerama Day by students of UPEI, we will dye our hair to match our school colors — GREEN! John MacDonald Chairman UPEI Shin- erama Walk Rally The walk rally is a chance for you, the freshman, to get aquainted with your own campus. Teams of four people are given routes to follow.
