This year new and returning students will be greeted by the addition of a new door . This is part two of the four year plan for the development of new facilities for the Dept. The new door will be officially opened by the hinister of Education who will ‘cut a ribbon held by the President of the University , R.J. Baker . The public is not invited as more than two people at one function would contravene the Public Gatherings Act recently passed by the P.E.I. Provincial Government . ‘* ,J.~ no,“ w- _ In addition to the new physical facilities , the students in Education will be happy to hear that there will be a faculty member for the academic year 71/72 . This will solve many of the problems which face? the Dept. last year . 7he new faculty member will have his salary paid by the Rural Dev. Council . V Future plans call for the addition of a heating system and hopefully the purchase of a used hay wagon so the whole dept. may be moved to Tignish where summer sessions will be held . As of yet , the university administration have not commented upon a rumour circulating about that Gordon Bennet will resign his position to become chairman _of the rapidly growing dept.
