Department of Alumni, Development & Public Relations Student Alumni Association Coordinator The Department of Alumni, Development and Public Relations intends to create a Student Alumni Association at the University of Prince Edward Island. We are look- ing for a student coordinator to assist in the establishment of the project. A Student Alumni Association is a student service organization which brings together a diverse group of spirited students from a variety of majors, interests and backgrounds. It is an organization whose purpose is to serve as a link between pro- spective students, students, alumni, administration, faculty and friends. Duties & Responsibilities - Develop a strategy for imple- mentation of the project and assist with the implementation of the project -Recruiting of volunteers -Prepare marketing materials for launching the project -Liaison between Student Alumni Association and prospective students, current students, alumni (graduates), administration, faculty Qualifications:. Must be a full-time university student preferably in their 2nd or 3rd year of study. Applicants should be mature, reliant, self-starter with work experience and strong inter- personal skills. Experience in work- ing with student organizations and/or other leadership abilities would definitely be an asset. Benefits to the Student In performing the tasks de- scribed, the student will be provided with an opportunity to develop and/ or enhance a number of skills includ- ing: computer, organizational, re- search, problem solving, marketing, recruitment, and interpersonal. While acquiring these skills, the student will be exposed to the operations of the University’s De- partment of Alumni, Development and Public Relations. The student will also be given the chance to develop relationships which may be of long-term benefit to his or her career planning. Term September - April. The coordi- nator position will require that the applicant be able to give a minimum of 3-5 hours per week to the project. Honorarium $500 per semester, payable at the end of each semester.
