Now, we have asked mo ordinary, run—of-the- mill students who have taken part~in an A.C.T. weekend to write a letter to say what their inpres— sions of A.C.T. are. All we can say is that we think A.C.T. is a good thing, that you definitely won't feel you have wasted the weekend and that everyone who possible can should go on an A.C.T. weekend. 'Ihink about it but also _ act on it and fill out the accompanying application form. Yours Truly, Publicity People ' <72. 1: x? . " Dear Fellw Student, Many of you have probably seen the posters around the campus announcing the arrival of A.C.T. VI. I amwriting this to try to explain what A.C.T. (Adult Christ— . ian Thinking) is all about and to answer some of the questions that might pop into your head about A.C.T. weekends in general. Last year when my room— , mate, who was on a previous As'C.T. weekend, a envy ya :1 ram] f A 5 old fa rarities after the game and relax,_ Gather around &‘ ‘sing your asked me if I was going I said no. I knew I wasn't the type for that religious stuff. I had visions of people all around trying to conwrt me to Roman Catholicism, and that was something I could do without. Being a Protestant himself, he convinced me that A.C.T. was nondencminaticmal and assured HE that no one would try to drive any— . thing dcmn my throat. To make a long story short, I went and he Was right. 'Ihere are Roman Catholic overtones all right, but nothing to get alarmed about. A.C.T. is made up of ' studentslike you and me, who want to find out a little more about this "Christian living" stuff. A.C.T. is just thoughts presented in the form of talks by your average student. A.C.T. is not intended to convert any— one to anything. A.C.T. is a great way to not only meet some new people, but also to make new friends. Naturally it does have a serious vein to it, but a little heavy thinking . neveredid anyone any harm. Dear Fellow Student, - When I think of-the last ACI' weekend held before ChrisUnas, there are many things\f.hat come to mind. To tell you what it's all about —— impossible! Crazy skits, good music, good food and Icarpanionship .- these are some of the things But for ‘ Ire, the opportunity to level with others Or just sit by myself and do some serious thinking about myself is what I- valuec’ most from ACI‘. ‘ Being a confused and disoriented freshman (like many of us are) the week- end proVed very helpful to me. But I know everyone can benefit from an ACT weekend as much as I did. . There were perhaps thirty students there, which is certainlx nothing to boast about. What is it that ‘ turns students off? Do > they envision long-gmmed pious smiling, angelic— looking creatures engaged in perpetual prayer? . Friends, laughter, skits, discussions, good music and leanling. . . . .that's what Christianity is all about. What more can one ask for? '- ~ .
