History Society Theme Song Early in January Clio attended the first History So- ciety meeting of the second semester. The members had a grand time. They gossiped, displayed their Christmas gifts, and poked fun at the Engineers. Finally the Presi- dent stood up and called the meeting to order. The Secre- tary read the notes from the last meeting. This prompted another wave of chuckles and jokes. discussed the primary objectives of the day. In a few min- utes they composed a History Society theme song. Committee on the Future of Fine Arts. The Latter coin- mittee had two basic plans, one of which would lead to a major in Fine Arts, while the other plan was much more wide-ranging. In gen- eral, UPEI would work with Holland College and Confed- ‘ eration Centre by handling the art history aspect, leav- ing the other institutions to take different components of a program. The first recom- mendation of the Academic Review and Planning Com- mittee was that the faculty position be changed to a full- time position from a_ two- thirds one. No :departmen- tal status would be granted to Fine Arts. This was sent to the Budget Committee. The second récommendation a was that the faculty mem. ber examine the report of the committee on the Future of Fine Arts and from it rec- ommend changes in the pro- gram.
