Plans have now been completed for the holding of the third Red Cross Summer Camp for crippled children. This time it. will be held at the home of Mrs. L. Mill. Marshtleld. which is next to the Ludlow Jenkins farm where the children spent such a happy sum- mer two years ago. There will be nine children in attendance in the beginning and it is expected that. a few more will come a little later on. Miss Jean Thompson, R.N.. who has so capably cared icr the children at the previous camps will again be in charge and will be ai- slsted by Miss Bessie ivtsolcod of the Red Cross staff. ' Most of the equipment for this camp such as towels, sheets, pillow- slip-s. toys. silverware. has been se- cured ln exchange for the many coupons which the members of the Junior Red Cross in all the schools on the Island have diligently saved and contributed. Quite recently the secretary 0d the Western Young People's Union. Miss Elma Irlman of Augustine Cove, forwarded the splendid sum od‘ $26.00 u s donat- ion from this organization towards the cost of the camp. At this camp the children. most oi whom have never been able to attend school, are taught a few schgol lessons as well as handwork such as knitting and crochetins. etc, so contributions of yarn for this work or toys would be most acceptable and would be thankfully reczreigled at the Red Cross Office.
