The Music Corner by Darrell Cole Each week until the end of the semester I will review an album presently on the charts or coming soon to the charts. Each album will get a score out of ten. If anybody wants to have -a record reviewed then contact me at CIMN (892-8980) or you can see me on campus. This week’s album: Bon Jovi - SLIPPERY WHEN WET. It took Bon Jovi three times to record a hit album, and it’s their third album “Slippery When Wet” which has lead this New Jersey based band to stardom. This album has passed the two million markin scales and is continuing to climb. The first single “You Give Love A Bad Name” was the most requested song on radio playlists before Christmas and ~ appeals to have brought the hard-rock sound back to radio. After Christmas came “Livin’ on A Prayer” which like its predecessor is rapidly Climb- ing up the charts in both U.S. and Canada. Iam sure that “Livin’ On A Prayer” will not be the last hit for this group. Other songs on This weeks question: “Do you know who the president of the Student Union is?” “Couldn’t tell ya...!” Lynn Wilson, 3rd year Psych this album include a sure hit “Let It Rock”, a great ballad “Wanted Dead or Alive”, “So- cial Disease’, “Raise Your Hands”, “Without Love”, “I’d Die For You”, “Never Say Good-bye” a powerful and touching waltz, and finally the very powerful “Wild In The Streets”. The recent success of Bon Jovi has lead to increased sales in their two previous albums. This New Jersey band is hot and should continue to rock the airways with hits for years to come. Those of you who have not bought this album yet and love good solid rock and roll are really missing an excellent album. The album and Bon Jovi’s sound is in between rock and heavy metal and thatis what I like about this group. Their music is good and when com- bined with Bon Jovi’s strong lyrics makes this album ex- tremely entertaining. Out of a possible score of ten I give Bon Jovi-Slippery When Wet a score of: 8 4.
