One of the best baseball games play- ed in Charlottetown for some time took place Saturday afternoon on Vic- toria Park between No. 5 Siege Bat- tery and picked a team from the dif- ferent clubs of Charottetown. The Siege Battery won the toss and took the field, Charlottetown coming to bat but were retired in 1, 2, 3, order The Battery then came to bat but were unable to score, owing to the excellent pitching of Lou Campbell. ln the sec- ond lnnlng no scoring was done on either side. The break came in the third when H. Murphy scored for the Bat. Fourth inning Charlottetown ev- _dned the score, but the Bat. added two _more to their first tally making the score 3-1 in their favor. ln the 5th inning Charlottetown got a move on and owing to an error on the part of the Battery‘s first base- man scored three runs, making the to till 4-3 in favor of Cliarloitetown. .\’o scoring was done in the sixth, and in the seventh the Battery evened up, and _Charlottetown also got one run mak- ing it 5-4 in there favor. The olght added nothing to either side. In the ninth the Battery coming to bat last. with a score of 5-4 against them, succeeded in getting two more runs, Keougban and Lt. Murphy doing the trick. Thus ended the Siege Battery’s first battle with at score of 6-5 ln their favor. The line up was as followin- € _ Lt. Murphy pitcher' Lou Campbell H.
