FEBRUARY 22, 2005 THE CADRE e 73 Maximize Your Test Taking Ability! Iam conducting research at UPEI this semester to complete my honors thesis in Psychology. The title of my project is “Marching to the Beat of a different drum: Aboriginal Students speak out about challenges faced while attending university”. I will be conducting interviews in February and am eager for your participation. If you identify yourself as Aboriginal (Inuit, Indian, -or Métis) and are attending UPEI, I would like to interview you. The purpose of this research is to create a description of the stressors that are faced by self identifying Aboriginal students at UPEI, and to get an understanding of the means by which this stress is managed by these students. All participants will be entered in a draw to win a $50 gift certificate from the UPEI bookstore. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Julie Bull at 393-6049 or jbull@upei.ca Aboriginal Research Participants Needed Maximize Your Test Taking Ability! Centre For Christianity And Culture Free Lecture Series Careful readers of best-selling author Anne Rice were not surprised when her Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt appeared in November 2005, along with a promise of more “Jesus” novels to follow. Her return to the Catholic Church in 1998 was well publicized in the popular press, but her vampires had by then already thought seriously about their religious options. This turn in Rice’s writing provides a useful base for understanding the relationship Foreign Affairs Canada +i Canada between fiction and faith, “authorial intention,” and some recent questions concerning the historical Jesus. Dr. Erb will be familiar to many of you as visiting professor at the Centre for Christianity and Culture. A gifted teacher and scholar, he is the author of numerous books and articles on (among other things) literature, Christian mysticism, Pietism, and Anglo-Catholic thought.
