Cattle trading was estimated to be steady to 50 cents lower on steers and heifers. Steers brought from 17-20 with common thin light steers down to 12. Heifers ranged from 9-19. Good cows sold from 1550-17; medium kinds 13-15 and common butchers 1150-13. Canners and cutters marsh: 9-11. Good bulls brought i’? Calves were in good demand and prices were 50 cents higher. Good quality veals brought fi; common to medium kinds 22-27. Drinkers were 18-21. Grassers made the bulk of offerings and sold from 14-16. There was a weaker undertone to the hog market and no early sales were registered. Nov. 22-iAPi-a steady but unhurried decline took the stock market down today oy fractions to around 2 points. There were no particular period. oi selling pressure, but every email attempt at a rally was cut off be fore it mode much headway; toward the close some of the leaders on the downside recovered a small portion of their worst loss. Moderate activity at the opening gave way to comparative dullness as the mixed pattern of prices slumped off on the day-long slide. The Associated Press average oi 60 stocks was down .5 of a point, the widest full since Nov. 9, to 64.6..The industrial and rail com- ponents of the average fell .6 of a point while the utilities were of! only .1 of a point. Rails, steels and motors suffered the most while chemicals, oil and aircrafts eased down slightly less. Utilities were narrowly irregular. Eight issues had turnover exceed ing 1,000 shares each. Mines moved into slightly easier ground in light trading. Industrial sales were approxi- mately the same as the previous days with a turnover of 40,600 shar es. Mines totalled 177.100 shares, a decrease of 04,900 shares from Fu- day. Closing averages showed banks olf .01 at 27.63; utilities unchanged at 74.5‘, industrlals off .5 at 131, papers off 3.76 at 342.05 and golds off .16 at 59.26.
