Each Wednesday evening in the Panther Lounge of me Barn a very simple event takes place —. A Coffee Shop! ‘ Coffee Shops are not simple in the sense that they involve little preparation. On the contr , much could be said of the dedication of those few who work hard to see this event happen. And yet, the relaxed ‘ atmosphere and pleasant surroundings coupled with the, music of many very fine artists, make the Wednesday evening THE UPEI SUNJ'I'hursdaV.OCt.5,I978113aqej WEDNESDAY NIGHT FEVER Coffee Shop an easy dloice for a quiet evening out. This past week (Wed. . Sept. 27) Paul Broadbent v and Steve love performed together as a duo- With their versatility they put together a repertoire which moved within a winning combination of bluegrass, country,‘ and ‘ fo]J< music. I feel their version'of Jesse Winchester's "Brand New 'IEnnessee Waltz" and Jerry Jeff Walker's "L. A. Freeway" were stand—out examples of this ability. ’IWo selections from their own material also deserve special recognition. "Flyin lcw" by Paul Broadbent and "One Way or the Other" by Steve Love were excellent choices. ‘ Special mention should also be made of "The Al In particular Ward anologue Hour - Minus Fifty Minutes"; the unending supply of coffee, tea(s) , hot chocolate and cookies available; the presence of an INCOGNI'IO ladies choir which supplied some fine background vocals; and, the announcement of a talent evening on October llth. Hope you will make it. Finally, on behalf of Al, thanks is extended to Peter, Gordon, Roger, Beaver Foods Cafeteria and the Student Union executive for their assistance. See you next week. P.S.
