     “ rather to under-estimate than over-estimate the worth of 
     
     the Linids in question,” as will appear in Schedule 1}, 
     
     54,707 acres are classed as of interior quality, and may 
     
     possibly remain sometime unsold, I have, therefore, omitted 
     
     them from any valuation in t'orniii’ig the estimate of the 
     
     worth of the Public Lands of the Colony. 
     
    
   
   
    
     I beg here to be allowed to state, that the Accounts of 
     
     the Public Lands Oftice, ending Slst January, 1807, shew 
     
     that the operations of the Land Purchase Act, not only 
     
     morally and politically, but also financially, have been 
     
     highly advantageous to the Colony, there having accrued a 
     
     p isitive gain ot'over £3,000, (£2,000, sterling), as will 
     
     appear by the Schedule C, annexed, by the purchase of
