MacDougall and Wm. E. Jenki were re-elected as Councillors for the Centre and East Wards in yesterdays civic election at Summerside. Mayor Wzn. A. Currie was elect- ed by scclamatlon, and succeeds Henry W. Wedge who retired from office after serving as Mayor of Summerside for the past six years. in the only up-set in the election lilr. Cannon, in the West Ward. polled an even 300 votes for a majority of 92 over Clarence Steele. a member of the Summerside Town Council for the past six years, who had 208 votes. The interest in the election in this ward, despite the weather. is indicated by the voting statistics which reveal that valid votes cast in this ward increased by 85 over those of the previous year.
