A complete map has been drawn by them during their survey work. The report of the survey and the map will no doubt be submitted to the Department at an early date and will contain valuable data in connection with that branch of the service. The party who were a Jolly bunch of fel- lows, had their own tents and cook- ing equipment. The sale commenced at I o‘clock and con- tinued all the afternoon. The bidding was brisk and prices realized were in many cases exceptionally good. For discriminating buyers there were some very interesting antiques which candlesiicks and quaint brass bowls from China., also some very old fash- ioned China. pieces. The outstanding feature of the sale was, however, the keen bidding for s. very beautiful grandfather clock which was brought from England by the late Miss Maw- 1ey‘s parents and was finally knocked down to Mrs, (Dr) J. A. McMurdo for $300. A side board of mahogany fetched the handsome price of $205. Other pieces including s. very beauti- ful antique sewing table brought ln' the vicinity of $90 each. The total amount realized was about $20,000, a little more or less. Mr. F. J. E. Wright was aucticheer. It had been currently reported that t.he extensive building which comprises the Clifton Hotel. Gourlles drug .store and the Summerslde Ranching companys oi- fioes, had been sold recently to Mr. Frank Johnson, the proprietor of the Silver Fox Inn, Summerslde. The deal. however, had not been consu- mmated up to the time of the auc- tioning of the furniture and it was therefore-dpen for sale and was pur- chased by Mr. J. E. Dalton, propriet- or of Gourlies drug store, who it is understood. paid in the vicinity of fifteen ihousand dollars for the property. Mr. Dalton is taking im-H mediate possession.
