Island Women's Institute which began Thursday morning at the Y.M.C.A. was brought to I conclusion yester- day afternoon. Mrs. Murdock Mac-Gowan presid- ed at the opening meeting with re- presentatives from 22 areas In at- tendance. The theme of the Con- ference was "Your organization. and You". The meeting opened with the Island Hymn. followed by the Creed. The delegates were re- ceived and introduced by Mrs Charles Jones. Pownal. An interesting report on the an- nual meeting of the Canadian Council on 4-H Clubs and the annual meeting.of the Canadian Agricult- ural Extension workers. held in Saskatoon. was submitted by Mrs. Maylea Manning. Supervisor. Speaking briefly, I-Ion. Eugene Cullen. Minister of Agriculture ex- pressed appreciation and admirat- ion for the splendid work being done by the Women's Institutes on the Island.
