Try and get out to the next meeting and get involved! If you don't already know about the student lounge upstairs in Kelley, there's a vending machine ' with coffee , tea and hot chocolate placed there thanks to the efforts of our society president and the co-operation of the Faculty. Drop up between classes and meet some other istudents over a coffee. Not all business students have had the pleasure of meeting the three new faculty members in our de- partment. These welcome.ad- ditions come to us from a .variety of backgrounds. U.W. McCarvill (C.A.) re- turns to the Island where he was born and attended scored with an average of 28 yards to their 3i. We note the basketball team has started training under the leadership of George Bir- ger. We welCome George to the local scene and wish him every success. At the same time we should not overlook the fact that he comes late 8 has had but‘little time to rebuild a team that should be—weak- ened b the defection of some 0; IPSt-Year's players. George has had plenty of experience. He is a native of South Dakota but has had considerable Canadian experience. He was the first basketball coach at Lake- head University and was Athletic Director there until he left on Sabbatical in 197A. From 7h-76 he was with Tucson in the Central Hockey League, which is affiliated with both Phoenix and Houston. Be- sides his other duties he' was largely associated with the promotional aspect of the business 8, hopefully, he'll be successful in pro- .moting basketball in this province. He faces quite a rebuilding task. Returning players 'are Llovd Pullen. who has atrick has done a considerable amount of writing in his field. 'The courses he is teaching N etifl em 1 p ‘ .7 are introductory business l00 and business 33l.
