THE UPEI SUN,Thursdey September 25,1939.Paqé a EDITOBIB this week the wise words of the editor will be extremely brief because we are racing against a speedily approaching deadline, and if you want your newspaper on time, we must meetthat deadline promptly. b we suggest that students heed the advice given y §ecurity on page 3. please, get your-regist- rat'on St'Ckers- if you find it necessary to park on any of the roadways, take your excuse to security and they may allow permission to park there. the task force meeting in the barn monday wast guute enlightening on the employment sitUation here. if one could get arOund the verbage and statistics the testimony of private citizens and a small busi- nessman were interesting and understandable in their informality. all that remains to be seen of course, is whether the federal government will act upon the suggestions of the task force, or whether the entire paper will be shelved for future reference. my last point is the most important one this week. regarding mr. clow's letter on this page, ms. smits only wrote the article on the front page last week. i gathered the information and gave it to her to write up as i was short of time. as for the facts, well, when three or four differnt individuals tell you the same facts, you tend to believe them. perhaps mr. clow, you are defending your job? i might add that the persons from whom i received the information‘ Were present at the barn when the break-in was dis- covered, or shortly aftenuards. let that be a lesson to you all. the SUN staff is so overworked that it finds it next to impossible to cover every side to any situation. have a funny week and be strong. Get involved and we can resurrect Blanchard Hall. Any suggestions, no matter hcm far out, any criticisms no matter how i , jy ,« LETTERS Dear Ms. Smitse and THE EYE It is quite obvious Ms. Smi ts never researched what she wrote about in the second issue on the front page of The Sun. -She writes like a headline grapping rookie out for sensationalism instead of being responsible enough to ask questions of , people who were involved. Myself and Kent Walker would have gladly set you straight if you had taken the time to ask. Here are me facts Ms. Smite: 1. It was impossible to crawl through the window. What they did was break the window and then reach inside, unlock the window and push it open. 2. The strongest door in the barn is the door guarding our beloved alcohol and it was not left unlocked. The outside door leading into the store-roans was . left open so the (P's could leave their GP jackets where they are supposed to be left. 3. Fifteen cases of beer were not left out in an unlocked rocm. There C l ’ WEI 5'0” § The UPEI SUN aims to, were five cases and one . full 40 oz. bottle of \ rye left locked up in the storage room where we leave our chips, peanuts pop all' year round. W n iii—.1133: l. The third floor "cannot be used as a bar, as we hade hard time obtaining licenses for both the lst and 2nd floor bars. 2. Your statement that many people had to wait . to be served on Friday night was just, but that people were ignored is wrong. When people are 15» across and 4 deep, waiting to be served, it is sanetjmes tough to decide who should ahead of who and usually the more you have had to drink, the more you think you are better than the next guy and should be ~ served first. Next time, you, Ms. Smits,_ or The Eye, decide to write ,' be sure of what you are writing by obtaining all the facts. Criticism has it's place, but only When it is done in a responsible manner.
