Feb. 9th. ’30 ‘ » / ,\ a « '* ' _ ARM WRESTLING COMP ETITION As part of UPEI's Winter Carnival '77 on Fashion Frolic, and Foam Friday, the Winter Carnival will present our first ARM Wres— tling Competition. This event will take place fo110wing the chugging con— test in the gymnasium. Women contestants are welcome. Weight classes for the competition are as follows: 0—135 lbs. 135—155 lbs. 156- 175 lbs. 175—195 lbs. l96—up lbs. The actual competition will be directed under the "Carling O‘Keefe World Wristwrestling Championship Rules" which are as follows. Contest should be pre— formed on a table 43" to 45" high. Contestants, facing each other, grasp the base of each others thumb, with wrists exactly perpendicular. The left hand will grasp the peg. The referee will place the wrists and forearms in an upright position an equal distance from each contestants shoulders. The signal to start is- 2 count- ready? go-. Elbows must remain static withing the liner marked on table. Default tonsits of failing to keep your elbow withing the lines or losing grasp of the peg.: V One default constitues a defeat (judges decision)“ One fall determines a winner.' 5 . "Bu. y r WINTER CARNIVAL QUEEN This year the judging of the Winter Carnival Queen contestants will be kicked off Monday, Feb. 7 with a ' dinner for the five judges and four girls, donated by the Showboat. \ The judges and girls will have a second get together Thursday Feb. 10 at an afternoon tea in Dalton Hall. After this tea the judges will make their final de- cision, which will be a secret until the Carnival Ball. The judges have not been picked as yet but we hope to have two students and‘ three other people assoc— iated with the university community. The student judges will also be asked to keep track of the par— ticipation of the girls in the various events during the carnival. ', The Queen will be crown- ed Sat. Feb: 12, at the Carnival Ball.
