cs of partisanship made against gov-
ernment officials, H. P. Duchemin of
this city visited Whitehead Guyshoro
county to enquire into a charge laid
against E. I.'. Munro,,prc\lentive offl-
cer. The chief witness against the of-
ficial was,a cousin, Chas. Munro, who
testified that E. ll. Munro told him-
previous to the last federal election
to go 'and select a pair of boots for
himself and that ifhe voted for Sin-
clair he could have the boots after
the election. I-le`did vote for Sinclair
and got the boots. No rebuttal testi-
mony was offered. Shortly alter-
wards, E. L. Munro laid li charge of
perjury against Charles Munro and
the case came up for trial before
Judge 'Ritchie in the supreme court
