The doct ir said: "Well, come down to the wharf; my money is there in my grip. Come quick, someone may get it; how careless of me to leave it there.” 'The man said: “No. I have no time to go.” The doctor said: "Well, if you can take your pay, from this checque (producing the $2,000 cheque) Iwill pay you here.” The man, o course, could not-. The doctor said: ~Hubbard. have you a few dollars about yon? The case is a hard one, for Hubbard was crippled with rheumatsim and :had his left arm in sling. The doctor was going to cure him of his trouble when they would be home.
