B., of which he is a. part- ner, on orders oi the Indian medical director, was a contravention of the House ol Commons Act, Mr. Jones handed his resignation to Mr. Speaker Black today. The resigna- tion together with a letter from Mr. Jones, was read shortly after the opening of proceedings in the Commons this afternoon. The store is not operated by Mr. Jena- personally and the firm is an unincorporated one. If the firm had been inoorporated, the .provis- ions of the act would not apply. The relief furnished to the needy Ind`a.ns was small. Covering a per- iod ot eigtheexi months, the goods supplied amount to $100 in au. Many of these Indians live four and five miles from Aipohoqui. Mr. Jones was first elected to the Dominion Parliament as re- presentative for Royal in the gener- al election ot 1921, and was re- elected in, the general elections of 1025, 1926 and 1930. In the 1930 general election he had a majority of 2,924 votes over 11's Liberal op- ponent. When the Meighen Govem- ment was in office in 1926, Mr. Jones was Min‘ster of Labor.
