An Associated Press despatch trom Boston last night says that it was an- nounced that M. F. Plant, president and manager of the Canada .‘- Atlantic ‘and Plant line Steamship Company, be- cause of pressure of other interests, had relinquished the management of the Plant line service between Boston and the provinces, and that H. L. Chipman of Halifax had been appointed mana- ger of this branch. For several years previous to the death of Henry B. Plant, head of the entire Plant system in 1S99, Mr. Chipman has been agent of the line at Halifax. He became superintendent at that place at the time of Mr. Plant’s death. I-le assumed his duties as mana- ger in Boston yesterday.-Halifax Herald May 9th.
