JOHN STETSON Relatives and friends were shocked to hear of the sudden passing in Prince County Hospi- tal of Mrs. John Stetson of ‘Free- town, P.E.I., on January 18th. The deceased had been in her usual good health until noon of that day, when she was suddenly stricken with a brain hemmbr- hage and despite all medical skill she passed away a few hours later. Born Eva Elizabeth Leckie, in Winnipeg, March 9, 1895, the daughter of the late Margaret and ;James Lee-kie, she received her early education in public school later talking a course as a stenc- grapher, where she worked for a number of years in the office of Wilson Paper Co. in Winnipeg. It was here she met her first husband, John Beairsto Da-vison, of Bu-rlington», P.E.I. They were married in August, 1920, and three years later came to P. E. I. to make their home where their three children were born. Her firsthusband predeceased her in 1933 at -the early age of thirty seven years. Her second marriage to J olin Stetson was in 1937 when she ca-me with her small family to reside in Freetown, whre she made many friends.
