If anyone has seen this movie, or plans to see it and feels the same way I do, please go the manager and tellher. One person can not make a difference, and I doubt one hundred people can make a difference because sex in movies in the nineties is pushed fur- ther to the limits with each new release.

I would also like to make a retraction referring back to my remark about other peoples morals. Appar- ently, 1am a minority when it comes to matters such as this one, sv, I take back what I said before and replace it with... I guess my values have not broad- ened with societies changes towards sex of any type on the big screen, thank goodness, because I fell it is very inappropriate. I also know I stand nearly all by myself when I say it is wrong for Basic Instinct to be shown in theatres under the rating Restricted. I will gladly accept both positive and negative feedback with regards to this article.

Review of Island Smoke

On Thursday April 2, I attended the premiere of Gre Dunham’s play ‘Island Smoke’ at Offstage theatre.

Although not for those with a weak constitution. It was a powerful, entertaining performance.

For some it may hit very close to home in its por- trayal ofan ‘Island way of life’. 1

The play is set in rural PEI ona halloween night. — The drama centers around an ‘Island dope grower’ trying to get out of the business. Paul Broadbent — gives an excellent performance as the protagonist Re -Renay. L.K. Symth is heart-wrenching as Jenny, ~ Ron’s wife. Another strong performance is that of Corin McFadden in the role of ‘Sully’ a frustrated - young man. Newcomer tot he stage, Wylaine LaFoy is endearing as Jenny’s sister ‘Carol.’’ Leith Chu — rounds out the cast as ‘Smolak’ the buyer.
