The formal swearing in of the new Campbell Government took place Government House yesterday forenoon. The Members comprising the Government, fncludin, Premier Campbell, who had earlier in the day been called upon by I-lis Honor to form a Government, attended promptly at half past ten. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Drawing Room, the new Mem- bers being sealed round a large table at which His Honor presided. The attending A. D. C. was Col. Full. Mrs. Annie Sophia (Rogers) Walker, wife of John S. Walker. passed away at the Cooperstown hospital, Sunday evening. Dec. lc. at 9.15 o'clock. after an illness oi some weeks, of heart trouble with complications. Mrs. _Walker had been in failing health for some time, and two weeks ago she was taken to the Cooperstown hospital for treatment.

‘FUNERAL 0F LATE MR. REID -The funeral of Mr. Ira D. Reid. held from Zion Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon, was very largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. G. O. Web- ster. The Masons, Oddfellows and Pyi-hians to which orders the late Mr. Raid belonged all took part in the service. The pallbearers were: Messrs. Samuel French, Lloyd Proud, G. Tocmbs, J. P. Croqrett, Russell Seller and Errlmett Quinn. A large number followed the re- mains to the railway station where they were forwarded to Camp- bellton for burial.

Heartfelt tribute to the late Pre- mier Lea was paid in the course of an address at the funeral service Sunday afternoon in Victoria Uni- ted Church by the Rcv. George Ayers. of Hampton, who conducted the service assisted by Rev. J. L. Lund. of the United Church, Tryon, and Rev. Dr. M. E. Genge oi the Presbyterian Church, North Tryon. “Dear friends." said Rev. Mr. Ayers, "we have gathered here this afternoon to pay our tribute of res- pect tc our late Premier, the Hon. Walter M. Lea.
