March 1 -(C P)—A wartime departure in the design of the color scheme of box car; rolling on the Canadian Na- tional Railways was seen today in Montreal when the first unit of an order, for 1,100 ali-steel 40-ion box cars appeared decorated ivith a maple leaf and the slogan “Serves All Canada". Hitherto freight cars employed by the National Railways have been prosaic despite their usefullnese. particularly in this war- time period when every unit on wheel; is busilv engaged in carrying munitions and supqolies wherever needed ln Canada. The suggestion to embellish these cars and use them to carry a message has been under consideration for some time and now the suggestion has been carried int/o a design.
