MAJOR POSITIONS

Three major positions must be reconciled to achieve an aIg-rec- ment'here on the strategic island. Britain, as the governing power. wants approval by the General Assembly to go on with her own plans for an eventual settlement involvmg the Greek Cypriot ma- Jorityand the Turkishdescended minority in Cyprus. Greece has come out flatly for independence while~ Turkey has called for par- titioning of the island into Greek and Turkish sectors.

The two other resolutions being studied now are neutralistsled ex- pressmns in most general terms of a desire for a peaceful settle- ment involving the UN. They are not expected to win the support of 1the Greek and Turkish pninci- pa 5.

Mr. George Show, Cape Wolfe, explained benefits of Credit Un- ions and spoke words of praise to all credit nion directors for their untirinig efforts in giving of their time and interests.
