The girls seemed very comfort- able around the ball, and confident in their attacks against UNB. They played hard defense, and were victim to some off calls. This was noted by the lady panthers head coach, who was losing her head at one point in the game. She accused the ref of not calling an intentional foul, and then went on to say that he had better start if he didn’t want to cause injury - she was livid.

Walters had a very strong game, winning rebounds, and fighting her way to the basket on several occasions. Andrews, and Campbell lead the quick attacks, and Natasha Eadie, was eating up the passing lanes in the opposing teams end. The girls

played great, and it seemed as though they were confident through out the whole game. It showed when some UPEI faces lit up with smiles, as faces should when play- ing a sport you love. Lindsey Coade had an excellent defensive game, and Mary

PRESIDENT:

talked about freeze tuition cam- paign. Although we were lacking in turnout from students and overwhelming apathy from the student body, we were able to accomplish our goals. For four days last week our plight was a focus of the media.

We managed to catch the Minister of Education both of guard and unprepared as she demonstrated that her knowledge of our plight was rather limit- ed. Our requests were also answered over last week and many doors opened, one of © which will be a presentation to the stand- ing committee on Education.

BOARD OF GOVERNORS

A tentative contract between the Faculty Association and the Board of Governors was presented which included

will come into play by June 2005. The issue of workload was divid- ed into departments and will be phased in

- over a two year period and the issue of

intellectual property has been solved. All of this means a budget increase of % mil- lion which translates into a possible 4%-

8% rise in tuition. f

MAPUS MAPUS has had two meetings

Now you may be thinking cheese, cheese, but I was glad to be a part of it, even if it was like something out of a PG movie.

So back to the court, the game started with a burst of intensity from UPEI, a masked bandit ran into the gym, and shot 4 3-pointers, before anybody knew what was going on! BUSINESS

Mark Hemphill Bus Prof approached Denis with the idea of a web log for business students and wants him to prepare entries and things of interest to bus students. He and Prof Hemphill will be meeting after break for more discus- sion.

SCIENCE

The biology vs. business pub crawl that was held last Friday was a suc- cess and there were close to around 200 people who showed up.

The fundraising auction for stu- dents to attend the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA) symposium held on January 28th in Tennessee was a success.

41 Students attended the Student Canadian Veterinary Medical Association sympoium at Guelph.

The 3rd year students are plan- ning a casino and karaoke fund-raising event this Friday and the 2nd year stu- dents are planning a clothing sale in "The Pit"

The Stafford loan will not be available for US veterinary students this

year. Those students will be pursuing pri-
