Base metals were in an almost one-way downward movement. Western oiln opened stronger but weakened as the session progress- ed. Golds opened under mild profit- taking, slowed to a crawl and then lifted under buying demand to con- tinue _vesterduy's advance. Kerr Addison. Lake Shore and Dome showed fractional advances in sen- lore.

Waite Amulet turned steadily in base metals for a gain of 3-8 at 1.’! 1-8. The advance was reflected in brieker trade in Wlltsey-Coghlsn, n neighboring property in the Rouyn district of Northern Quebec. Smelter: dropped 1 1-2 at 111 1-2 and International Nickel, Hudson Bay, and East Sullivan were among the wide list of losers.
