Underground Oil Tank Explodes

explosion took place of an under- ground tank of oil at a gasoline filling station here today which threw the flaming oil over s row of dwelling houses occupied most- ly by negroes. Flying. sparks from tho chisel of a workman caulking a car is supposed to have caused the explosion which occurred on Main Street and Milt Ave., in the centre of a densely populated part of the city. Police estimates place dead at twenty-five, injured fifty as a result of the explosion.
