smoked meat. is an amateur television operator a n d the basement of his home is the

scene of his nightly transmis- aions.

“I‘ve got an almost insatiable curiosity when it comes tn elec- tronics." said the big. ebullient Montrealer whose brigitly ani- mated every inch the T\’ performer.

OTTAWA (CP) — The home economists in the consumer section of the federal agricul- ture department warn mothers that lunch is not. just a stop-gap meal to fill a child until he can get a proper dinner.

The economists say lunch should supply about. one~third ol the day's food requirements.

Your child's school lunch box should contain food from these four main groups:

1. Protein food: Meat. fish. poultry. eggs. cheese. peanut butter. dried peas or beans.

2. Bread and butter: En- riched, whole wheat. rye. rolls. muffins. biscints. etc.

Fruit or vegetables: Raw. in Salads. cooked or canned. . 4. Milk: To drink or eat pud- ‘ dings. soups. casserolest.

Deserts and extras may be included if tastes and appetites indicate they are needed. Tilt'se extras should not, however. take the place of the basic lunch outlined. say the home econo. mists

Here are some tips about how to take the work out of the daily task of packing your child‘s lunch.

First. have a lunch box cor- ner. A shelf near the bread box is a good spot. Stack it with

axed paper. small empty jars with lids. sharp knives. dishes for making fillings in. sandwich bags. plastic containers, lunch box and thermos bottle.
