NEW YORK fAPl-The stock market recovered its balance Tuesday and regained more than it lost in Monday's moderate fall.

Snme gains were exceptionally high but these were few. The ad- vance usually was cut off at around 2 points. Losses were small for the most part.

Coppers were the first to im- prove, but it wasn't long until the other major groups got into the act. Also advancing were steels. railroads, oils, aircrafts. motors, utilities. radio-televisions and air- lines. Distillers closed steady after being depressed most of the day. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks was up SL20 at 3156.”. Volume was 1.910.000 shares.

Howe Sound, in the copper busi- ness. was ihe day's most active issue up 1'14 at 2094:. It was fol- lowed by General Dynamics up 134, Rexall Drug up iii, Zonite Pro- ducts up V4. Gulf 011 up lift. and Anaconda Copper up 156.

TORONTO, (CP)-- he market eased slightly Tuesday but price changes were mostly fractions.

Western oils eased slightly. Transmountain Oil Pipe Line led the downward trend with a drop of 83.75 to 528 following reports that oil exports from Alberta to the United States are being cur- tailed.

Bailey Selburn A and Peruvian suffered smaller losses. But Gen- eral Petroleum A climbed 30 cents to 35.95.

Uraniums, led by Pronto with a drop of 30 cents to 38.45. were weaker. Can-Met fell 28 cents to 31.32 on a 55.000-share turnover and smalle losses went to Far- aday. Lorado and Lexindin. Al- (gglrkn dropped 82 1-2 cents to sip.-

Base metals were slightly down on the day. Beaucage fell 15 cents to 85.20. and lesser a loss went to East Sullivan. Steep Rock. Labra- dor. United Keno Hill and East- ern Metals managed some gains.
