Most major divisions were higher. Railroads were an excep- tion. They wero a little lower.

Steels, oils. coppera and motors were higher. and some chemicals and aircrafta were strong.

Main performers were General Motors up 3'6 to 10136 and du Pont up 0'74 at 168.

The Associated Press average of 00 stocks advanced 811) at s new high of 8157.1).

The Industrial component of the average was up 32.50 at s new high of 3217.40.

Volume amounted to 3,370,000 shares.

Canadian stocks were led high- er by McIntyre. up 1'74 at 74. In- ternational Nickel followed. ahead 06. and Dome Mines advanced SS. Distillers Seagram fell I5.

On the American stock exchange Giant Yellowknife and Royalite oil each showed a gain of '6.
