For exterior expcsiues the main factor is protection against the at- mosphere combined with decora- tive effects which will insure clean wearing qualities, permanence of color against the action of the sun and a sound wearing film which will not crack, chip or pool.

For interior exposures the severe action of the sun and elemenlts is’ absent but is replaced by the aibra-i sive action of traffic, the effect of cleaning compounds, the action of fumes, etc. Interior paints. arc therefore formulated to feature dc- corative effects combined with hard wearing qualities to resist weer, scrubbing, oils and the ab- sence of sunlight.
