The men were traced on Wed- nesday to their home in Mickie, Westmorlsnd 00.. N. B., by Cor- poral Cordweil of the R. C. M. P. detachment st l“ lottetnwn and Constable MacArthur of Borden.

After hearing the evidence of certain witnesses the n‘ hers were remanded until Wednesday 8th inst.

lidr. Harry (irossman, the first witness called. stated that he was a fisherman and fox rancher at Cape Traverse. He owns a for ranch which is about 86 to 4o feet. from his residence. There is s. board guard fence seveii feet high round the ranch. The only entrance to the ranch is from his back porch. On November 19 he had fifty-four foxes in the rsnch. He vlsitad the ranch between four and nve o'clock on Monady evening to feed the foxes and everything was in ords. On Tuesday morning ' about 9 o'clock he went out tp the ranch to feed the foxes and upon coming to the second pen on the left hand side oi the pens between the guard fence and double shed he found the door open and two female silver fox pups missing. He searched the ranch for them and could not 11nd them. He afterwards saw two sets 6f tracks one coming and one going across s ploughed field ad- joining the guard fence at the north end of the ranch. He fol- lowed them for a mile and a half where they ended at a. woods. There

Later that night they went to Crossroads ranch took the foxes and carried thém to the woods where they skinned them and returned the next day to their home. He had never stolen any- thing in his life before. They took the suitcase to buy beer for a dance. Copr. Cordwell then went on to say that when they were returning to the Island with the prisoners, Law- rence ed tc show them where they had skinned the foxes and they found two fox carcasses in the woods near Carl ton. Wesley llhtabrooks was celled to give evidence and related how he had worked for Harry qrcssman during the siunmer and left there Friday. His evidence as to his doings on Monday coincided with the statement oi his brother. Wit- ness admitted opening the door oi the fox pen and catching the foxes. afterwards taking them to the woods and skinning them by the light of a flashlight. They return- ed to Borden-about 4 a. m. and beat their wav across to Cape Tor- rnentine on the Carferry. His story of their subsequent movements was much the same as his brother's statement. W. Noonsn then ssked for an adjournment.

Wesley lktabrooks was then for- mally arraigned on the same charlie as his brother and an adjournment was requested in this case also. The mdsoners were remanded until Wednesday 29th inst.—-S
