ESOLVED, That the Honorable the Speaker. on behalf of tbi House. do acknowledge the receipt from the President of the Legislative. Council of Prince Edward Island, of copies of the Resolutions passed by that body on the occasion of the assassination of the Honorable Thomas D’Arcy McGee. expressing their horror at the crime which deprived the people of Canada of an able and patriotic Statesman, and sym- pathy with the Parliament and People of the country. as Well as with the widow and children of the deceased; and to eonvey the thanks of this House to the Legisla- tive Council of Prince Edward Island, for this manifest- ation of their good will and sympathy with the people of this Dominion, in the National loss which has been inflicted upon it by the atrocious crime of which that body sojustly expresses its detestation.

IIEREAS a writ has been issued, directed to us. under and by virtue of an Act passed in the 14th year of the reign of Her present Majesty Queen Victoria. intituled “ An Act to regulate the laying out and altering of Highways.” and of the. Acts Ill amendment thereof. whereby we are commanded to enquire what damage 0r advantage will accrue to those persons who are interested in the lands through which a certain new road is intended to be made : Commencing alt MeAleer’s Road, on the east side” of the Township boundary be- tween Lots 86' and 37, and running along the said east side of said boundary, to the Fort Augustus Road; also from Clark’s Bridge nnd along John MCKinuon’s south boundary line to the new road to Pisquid new Bridge, and from the east side of said Bridge to Jay‘s. _ Now We do hereby give Public Notice, to all parties, that we will commence the execution of said writ. by attendng at the commencement of the said intended new road, on the 24th day of June next, at the hour often o‘clock, in the forenoon, and from thence will proceed along the said intended new line of road and complete the inquest according to law.
