What could have been a ser- ious accident resulted in a. bio- ken leg and arm for Mr. Edward Jones of Rcseville last Monday ievenlng when the truck he was driving crashed into a gravel truck which was parked on the side of the road in Bloomfield. tDr. Dewar of O'Leary quickly came to the scene of the accident. La- ter, Mr. Jones was taken to Sum- mcrside hospital.

St. Bernadette's parish, Brock- ton, held an Ice Cream Festival and Dance in Bloomfield on Monday evening. Music for danc- ing was supplied by Mr. Lance Dalton and Mrs. Calerldge Ro- gers. -
Mr. Elmer Griffin, Brockton. suffered a. considerable loss when a barn and several smaller bulld- ings on his Bloomfield farm burn- ed to the ground on Monday night. It was thought that the house would burn too but the many peo- ple who were assembled there managed to prevent it from catching aflre. Aid was sought from the fire station In Alberton but it did not get there in time to save the buildings. Cause,of the fire is unknown.
The residents of this commun- ity are pleased that the road has been widened and graded to the Western Road. It is hoped that a new bridge will be built in the near future. This has been a long
