He said the Conservative rec- od since taking office fully bears out a statement Defence Minis- ter Pearges once made, that there was no fundamental difference be- tween the Liberal and Conserva- tive parties. _

“How right he was” said Mr. Argue.

He spoke at a public meeting in the Longslhoremen’s Protective Union hall.

The Conservatives had two faces, he said, a progressive one in opposition and a reactionary one in power.

West Indies Heads Visit

When Lord Hailes leaves Oct. 15 for Montreal and the last three days of his Canadian visit, his place at Government House will be taken by Sir Grantley Adams, first prime minister of the federa- tion. ' ‘

Sir Grantley will be here Oct. 17-18 to sign the agreement whereby Canada will extend $10,000,000 aid to the federation over a five-year period.
