This past Sunday afternoon I decided that instead of spending the afternoon glued to the television set or in separate rooms reading, I would get my family together for some quality time. After looking over Saturday’s Guardian we decided to attend the U.P.E.I. Panthers basketball game. So, I packed my family into the car and headed for the university. Upon arrival, I was informed that it would cost $18 for my family of four to see the game, apparently though, I was lucky as two weeks earlier it would have cost $26. After approximately two seconds of deliberation, I packed my family back into the car and went home to spend the afternoon glued to the television set or in separate rooms reading.

In these times of restraint it is a shame that a person cannot afford to attend a university basketball game. It is also sad that the Panthers will not receive the support they deserve due to this problem.

Thank you for your letter to the X-Press November 14,1991 and welcome to the Robertson Library. I trust your future visits will be more enlightening. The energy saving timers have been installed for approximately ten years and we have had no queries as tc their function or use since the year of installa- tion. All timer switches are located at the same end of the stacks. Simply turn and you will have one to fifteen minutes of light. Ifsuch an action activates the water system, the shower is on us.

We had never entertained the idea of marking the area housing the collection as ‘‘BOOKS’’. I guess we

were under the impression 250,000 books spoke for themselves.

Dear Editor,

I was upset enough about your stupid editorial on Nov. 7, 1991 to write and attempt to set you straight. However, lam now even more angry at your treatment

of my letter in Nov. 21, 1991’s issue. Where do you get off altering my letter by:

1. Signing me ‘‘Anti-Alternative’’, I have never been ‘*Anti-Alternative’’ and will never be “‘ Anti-Alterna- tive’’ if anything I am Pro-Alternative. For your readers information I wish it be known thatI signed

2. Cutting my letter short (I understand about space limitations) However you printed the first half of my letter twice. What kind of space saving is this.

5. Yourknowledge of spelling - There’s English 101 classes.

4. Poor lightening on campus - What’s new?!

3. Doors that should be open during weekends but are not (eg. the computer labs - I had to waste my pre- cious 20 minutes waiting for the security to stroll to the building to unlock the door many Saturday after- noons.

2. The lack of definition to ‘‘Computer Services’’.

A lot of the computers are broken in the Robertson Library computer lab, the math lab and the Kelly computer lab since the beginning of the semester. I suggest the ‘‘computer services’ remain idle no longer and do the job they are paid to do, and stop wasting students’ time in searching for useable com- puters while they could be getting their assignments done.

1. Various functions of the university are ripping money from students, eg. Marriott food services to the residences.
