on Saturday August 4th a handi- cap race for the B. A. Atkinson trophy will be held at West Point for the first time in eighteen years. Open to fishermen from Cape Egmont to Campbellton the race was first held on Dominion Day 1910 but has not been run off since 1938 when it was won by Russell MacLean. At the time the winner of the handicap was pre- sented with a flag until the pre- scntation of .1 beautiful silver cup by the late Mrs. B A. Atkinson. the former Isabel Milltgen of Brae, P. E. I.

The funeral was from the home of her son Lorne Campbell with a private service conducted by Rev. Leslie Bartlett, to St. Johns Presbyterian Church. New Lon. don where the service was con- ducted by Rev. Bartlett and Rev. George Killen of Alberton. Many beautiful flowers brought mess. ages of tribute and sympathy, I-lymns sung were "The Lords My Shepherd" and tNearer My God To Thee".

Another feature attraction ls,the swim open to residei'. of Prince Ed- ward Edward Island. Following the official opening and introduct-

mile swim will be transported to Montrose Bridge where they will enter the water and proceed to- ward Killare Bridge. While this swim is in progress other events will proceed at Kildare Bridge.

A half-mile swim open to non- residents of the Province will be of interest to tourists. Three classes of boat races are heduled in addition to the swim- ming events. Meals will be served at Kildare Bridge and there will be booths at which hot dogs, soft drinks and ice cream will be available. There will also be swings for the child- ren and a country store.

Much thought, planning and work have been given by the com. mittee to West Prince's first an- ual Aquatic Sports Day and the event is anticipated with enthus- iasm by all who are interested in water sports.
