Wanted: Student Directors & Ideas For Plays

The UPEI Theatre Society invites proposals from students intereested in producing and directing a play during the winter semester. The student-directed productions are performed in Duffy Amphitheatre. Casting and rehearsals should begin in January, and

the play should be performed in mid or late March, or early April. The Theatre Society will provide a modest budget for the student director. If you are interested in directing a play, contact Prof. Richard Lemm at Main 135 or the English Department office (Main 133), or at 566-0592. Proposals will be accepted until November 16.

Yearbooks

We have yearbooks from 1973-1989. They belong to you the students and the alumni of this university. Please we need the office space!

Come and pick them up.

Provincial IODE Scholarship

The Provincial Chapter of IODE has established a yearly Scholarship which is available to an Island resident entering Sophomore year at UPEI. It is awarded firstly, on the basis of good academic achievement, and secondly on financial need. It is payable to UPEI for the tuition fees for the second semester, beginning in January.

Application forms are available at the Registrar’s Office, UPEI.

Deadline for receipt of applications: 15 November.

Honorary Degrees

The Honorary Degree Committee is seeking names of candidates for honorary degrees to be conferred at Convocation in May, 1991.

All submissions are to be made:

a) with supporting documentation, such as an updated curriculum. vitae, at least of a preliminary nature; and

b) with a care for the fact that the nominee may be asked to address Convocation.

Submissions should be sent to the Registrar for forwarding to the Committee.

Nomination Deadline: Wednesday, 31 October, 1990.
