The resolution committee pre- sented the following resolutions.

Resolved that every member oi the W0mcn‘s Institute do her ut- most to prevent the spread of tuberculosis;

That all members do their best to enlarge their clubs and to cn- courage forming new ones:

That this convention express their regret for the departure of Mrs. (Rev) T. A. Rodger, a valucld Institute member.

The reports of the various Insti- tutes were then rcacl by the secre- taries, after which Miss Haazard gave an instructive demonstration on convenient kitchens, followed by an address on Institute work by Mrs. Tait. ‘

CHICAGO. Sept, 14 -Gold ear- Tings which archaeologists believe were worn by the ladies in waiting at Ncbuchadnezzarn court 2500 ycars ago are on display at Field Museum of Natural History.‘

Three pairs were found in the ruins of the ancient city of Klsh in a Babylonian grave dated as be- longing to the period of Nebuchad- ilczzar who ruled over both Baby- lon and K1511.

The ornaments illustrate both the skill of the ancient Jewell smiths and the trend of style

which the royaliadics followed. A third example oi Babylonian craftsmanship is intricate. it is a llarge gold earring an inch and three quarters long. From a gold wire loop attached to the ear lobe dcpcncls a lunate ornament decor- ated with three rows oi tiny‘ lit- tlc 1wcarls.
